Florida’s Shaimos Crisis
We’re Running Out of Space!

Our Jewish communities in Florida are growing at an unprecedented rate—but so is the amount of Shaimos we generate. The sacred responsibility of burying these holy materials has become unmanageable.

For years, local Jewish cemeteries handled Shaimos burials as needed. But with the overwhelming volume today, they can no longer accommodate it. This has left our community in a dire situation: There is NOWHERE left to bury Shaimos properly.

The Neshama Foundation is stepping up to solve this crisis with the creation of The Florida Shaimos Project. We are raising the necessary funds to secure land, obtain permits, and acquire equipment—ensuring that our communities have a proper and permanent place to deposit Shaimos with the dignity and respect it deserves.

Land Acquisition

This will allow us to purchase the land needed for a proper Shaimos Geniza Cemetery. Includes naming rights for the location.
